John Armstrong
Director of Operations
John is the Director of Operations responsible for ensuring that the company has the facilities, resources and capacity to support the continued success and needs of both professional staff and clients. He brings a diverse skill set of to the firm, having been a union stage manager and/or producer for more than 90 professional theatrical productions, a digital strategist and account director in various marketing agencies, and most recently the Director of Operations at Storycatchers Theatre where he led back-end administrative support for more than 45 talented employees.
He is a 2010 graduate of the Focus St. Louis’ Leadership St. Louis program alongside a passionate cohort of people determined to use their skills for positive social change, and has been a mentor and manager to countless employees who have grown their careers in exciting, meaningful ways.
It’s truly humbling to work alongside the passionate, thoughtful people at Strategic Philanthropy who have dedicated their careers to making change in our world. It’s all too easy to look around and witness the incredible burdens many people carry and feel helpless to the solution, but I am reminded every day that there are people who shun the madness that Miguel de Cervantes describes in his famous book, Don Quixote: “to see life only as it is, and not as it should be.”
