Brian is a strategic partner to Strategic Philanthropy, Ltd., with direct responsibility for helping to enhance and expand new business opportunities for the firm.Â Brian has a deep commitment to, and understanding of, the value proposition of philanthropy as an integrated part of the conversations legal and financial advisors have with their clients. This has been a focal point of his own practice: Hughes Growth Strategies, LLC, based in Philadelphia that he launched in 2010 and his work with and on behalf of Strategic Philanthropy, Ltd.
Brian brings nearly 30 years of experience as an accomplished senior executive in the family office and wealth management industry. Prior to the launch of his consulting firm, Brian was responsible for building and cultivating family and private foundation relationships at Threshold, a privately held multi-family office started by George Russell. Before that he was a managing director and head of National Business Development for Pitcairn, a privately owned multi-family office, where he led the firmâ€™s business development efforts on a global basis.
Brian has been a featured speaker at many programs around the country, including the Wealth & Giving Forum, the Southeastern Family Office Forum, RayLignâ€™s Family Frontiers, the IIR Family Office Forum, the Family Wealth Alliance Advisor Forum, the Family Firm Institute Annual Meeting, the Family Office Symposium, Schwab IMPACT, CFA Society of Philadelphia and the Pilot Family Office Summit.
Brian earned a BA in Economics and Marketing from University of Tampa and completed the Private Wealth Management Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Â Brian serves as a Director for the NY- based consulting firm Family Office Metrics and is the Chair of the Caring for Kids campaign for VNA Community Services of Abington, PA.
